Philips to host exclusive stakeholder event on Arena solutions in Qatar on the 23rd of May

Dubai, U.A.E. & Doha, Qatar - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) is hosting a seminar titled 'The Philips Arena Solutions Conference', taking place in Qatar on the 23rd of May, inviting key stakeholders such as engineers, architects and specifiers to attend a session on Philips' sports lighting solutions.

Professional sport is the world's biggest entertainment industry and lighting plays a huge role in enhancing the excitement and drama, as well as enabling sportsmen and women to perform at their very best. Philips Lighting organizes this event to highlight their long pioneered lighting innovation in sports, from the 1952 Olympic Games in Oslo to the first Formula One (F1) night race hosted in Singapore and many more to date, including the Asian Games in Qatar and the FIFA Youth Club in the United Arab Emirates.

Since Philips' introduction of the innovative Arena Solutions, a sustainable lighting concept that is 40% energy efficient, Philips has equipped more than 65% of the world's major football stadiums. A prime example are the 6 out of 9 top stadiums in South Africa, where the 2010 World Cup took place, are now ranked internationally as the best-lit sporting stadiums.
